Jamie Lee Curtis Thanks 'nepo Baby' Status For Stardom: "Amazing!"

Jamie Lee Curtis, fresh off her SAG Award win on Sunday, spoke out against Hollywood's culture of favouritism towards family members.

Upon accepting the prize for her role in "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once," Curtis revealed that she was wearing the wedding band her father had given to her mother. She told the guests at the Fairmont Century Plaza that her famous parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, did not enjoy a happily ever after.

"They hated one other, by the way. On the other side, my sister Kelly and I conceived of our parents' love for one another "Her words. "My famous entertainer parents are Hungarian and Danish, respectively. Both of my parents' careers were in the entertainment industry."

In an earlier Instagram post, Curtis called out the notion that the word "nepo-babies" was "simply created to demean, denigrate, and wound" and branded herself a "OG Nepo Baby."

She revealed her husband's profession, stating, "I married an actor” in reference to Christopher Guest. Performing is something I take pleasure in. The work we perform is rewarding, and I like being a part of it. Being a part of a cast is fun for me."

Curtis wore a crimson Romona Keveza gown with long sleeves and a low neckline to the star-studded celebration in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old virgin JAMIE LEE CURTIS DATES: "I love what we do with one other," she continues, and the phrase "will be the single greatest thing I do" comes up twice. You realise that many performers in our profession don't get to do the job when you look at evenings like this and wonder, "Is it ever going to be achievable for me?"

I know what you're thinking: "Nepo baby, that's why she's there." But the reality is, at 64 years old, I find this experience to be nothing short of incredible.

Curtis shot to fame after being cast as Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's iconic horror film.

The film's producer, Debra HIll, has stated that the decision to cast Curtis was motivated by the fact that her mother is a horror icon and that doing so would be "excellent publicity" for the picture.

In the iconic horror picture Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Janet gained widespread recognition.

Jamie's father, Tony, had a six-decade acting career that saw him star in more than 100 films. They included "Some Like it Hot," "Spartacus," and "The Defiant Ones," for which he was nominated for an Oscar.
